Computer Recycling for Education Organizations
From financial information to confidential student records, educational institutions at all levels must be concerned with data security when disposing of obsolete electronics. With schools consistently striving to update the technology available to students, many machines become obsolete each year.
Old PCs, laptops and servers can contain a substantial amount of secure and private data. Finding a solution that protects the students' information, meets legal guidelines and is economically sound can be a challenge to schools.
With over 2 million tons of electronics becoming obsolete each year, the potential harm on the environment has led to an increase in state and local regulations. Any lead, cadmium, mercury or other toxic metals contained in these electronics can be harmful for the environment. If these items reach landfills, the toxins can bleed into the water stream and land, damaging the wildlife and environment.
As an educational institution, you understand the need to protect the environment and dedicate our efforts to protecting the future. Currently, only 11% of disposed electronics are being recycled, with a majority ending up in landfills. By establishing a solution for your obsolete and surplus electronics, you are illustrating your commitment to improving the environment.
