Corporate Recycling Programs

Each year, over 2 million tons of electronics become obsolete and are disposed. The environmentally safe disposal of electronics has rampantly become a major concern in recent years. With companies facing increased pressure by society and governmental regulations to enact green initiatives, the decision to recycle old technology can illustrate a company's dedication to providing for a greener tomorrow. While the obsolete electronics can be valuable, they also represent an environmental and security issue.

Various toxic metals can be found in electronics, including lead, mercury, and cadmium, can cause serious harm to the environment. When disposed in landfills, these toxins can leach into the water stream and land, causing damage to individuals, animals and the environment. And since most technology contains private information, finding a company that will dispose of your equipment in a manner that protects your information should be a high priority. Allowing your old technology to end up in a landfill poses a serious threat to your company's security. We help protect you from the potential dangers of electronics recycling.

Companies today also face pressure to find a fiscally responsible method of recycling electronics. At Bass Computers, Inc., we work with our corporate customers to provide them compensation for their valuable obsolete electronics and surplus inventory.

Bass Computers, Inc. offers our corporate customers a full range of e-waste services and collection events. We can design and implement a financially and environmentally responsible program based on the types and amount of equipment. As a distributor of computer and security components, Bass Computers, Inc. also offers the option of receiving cash or credit for your recycled electronics towards the purchase of new technology.

Benefits of Recycling with Bass

Regulatory Compliance

With over 19 years in the technology business, Bass Computers, Inc. offers our corporate customers an electronics recycling center that employs environmentally and EPA approved methods of de-manufacturing various types of electronic equipment.

State and federal agencies continue to address concerns over electronic waste by imposing regulations on both manufacturers and organizations. As a TCEQ-approved manufacturer and EPA registered company, we recognize the importance of properly handling discarded electronics.

We have enacted policies to ensure that companies recycling with us are confident that their equipment will be handled in a manner that meets or exceeds all state and federal regulations. Bass also maintains both Liability and Environmental Liability Insurance.

Security of Facility & Staff

When choosing a company to dispose of your electronics, one should consider the experience of the company and the security of its location. Bass Computers, Inc. operates a 42,000 square foot facility monitored by over 26 security cameras that record around the clock. The destruction process of all secure information is recorded and available for live viewing upon request.

We maintain the staff, facility and equipment to properly handle your electronics. All employees must pass a background check before beginning employment and receive proper instruction on performing their portion of disassembling or destroying electronics.

Recycling Procedures & Tracking

At Bass Computers, Inc., we recognize the importance of implementing stringent recycling policies to ensure your institution's reputation is protected. We adhere to a strict policy of not sending products overseas and maintain a No Landfill policy. When we collect your equipment, we offer several assurances that your electronics will be treated in a secure and responsible manner.

Our GPS-equipped trucks allow customers to track their equipment from pick-up to delivery at our secure facility. Each load receives a reference number for tracking purposes by both parties. To minimize your company's liability, we offer a Certificate of Recycling as assurance that we collected and de-manufactured your electronic equipment in a manner consistent with all government regulations. Based on your company's requirements, we can also issue you an audit report detailing all product received by date, including the condition and the value.

We also specialize in data destruction and initiate processes to safeguard your information. Utilizing Department of Defense approved techniques, we destroy data with various methods including the multi-pass swipe or drilling. In both situations, all data becomes irretrievable, thus protecting your customers from identity theft and your institution from liability. We will provide you with written certification of sensitive data destruction, also known as a Certificate of Destruction.

Maximum Value

Every company must consider the financial implications of technology decisions, including the disposal of obsolete and surplus electronics. At Bass Computers, Inc., we recognize the potential value of disposed electronics, and provide our customers with credit for a portion of the value of the recycled equipment.

Upon receipt of each load, we can provide corporate customers with a check, credit toward new technology from our distribution department, or the option of a charitable donation for the value of your equipment. We do not charge for on-site estimates and will customize an asset disposal solution based on your inventory.
